Proton Decay from Excited States in Spherical Nuclei

چکیده

Based on a single particle model which describes the time evolution of the wave function during tunneling across a one dimensional potential barrier we study the proton decay of Pb from excited states with non-vanishing angular momentum `. Several quantities of interest in this process like the decay rate , the period of oscillation Tosc, the transient time ttr, the tunneling time ttun and the average value of the proton packet position rav are computed and compared with the WKB results. 23.50.+z, 21.60.Gx Typeset using REVTEX Work partially supported by the IN2P3-IFIN-HH Collaboration grant no.95-17

Study of light proton-rich nuclei by complete kinematics measurements

Light proton-rich bound and unbound nuclei were produced by means of stripping reactions of secondary beams of Mg and Ne. The decays of the unbound nuclei Na have been measured by detecting their decay products Ne and one proton and by performing an invariant-mass reconstruction. For Na, the present work is the first measurement of its decay. As the decay scheme of this nucleus could not be det...

Role of dynamical particle-vibration coupling in reconciliation of the d3/2 puzzle for spherical proton emitters

It has been observed that decay rate for proton emission from d3/2 single particle state is systematically quenched compared with the prediction of a one dimensional potential model although the same model successfully accounts for measured decay rates from s1/2 and h11/2 states. We reconcile this discrepancy by solving coupled-channels equations, taking into account couplings between the proto...

Proton decay of high - lying states in odd nuclei

In the framework of the quasiparticle-phonon model, we study the nonstatistical proton decay of excited states in odd nuclei towards low-lying collective states. Partial cross sections and branching ratios for the proton decay of the high angular momentum states in 41Sc, 59Cu and 91Nb are evaluated. The calculated branching ratios predict strong direct proton decays to the low-lying vibrational...

Dynamical particle-phonon couplings in proton emission from spherical nuclei

We present results of coupled-channels calculations which are performed to understand the role of vibrational excitations of the daughter nucleus in proton emission decay of spherical nuclei. It is shown that the experimental decay rates from the 2d3/2, 3s1/2 and 1h11/2 states in proton emitting nuclei Re are reproduced simultaneously when the quadrupole phonon excitation of the core nuclei is ...
